Terms and Conditions

Contract Terms

By agreeing to our engagement you agree to be legally bound by this contract which includes this proposal and our full Terms and Conditions which are available online at https://lakesdoorsarchitectural.com/terms-conditions/ (our “Terms”).

Who we are

‘We’, ‘us’ or ‘our’ means Lakes Garage Doors Limited, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 05156621. Our registered office is at Unit 5 Leachfield Industrial Estate, Green Lane West, Garstang, Lancs, PR3 1PR. Our VAT number is 604 5642 57.

Who you are

‘You’, ‘your’ or ‘customer’ means the person contracting to buy goods and services from us.

Privacy and personal information

How a legally binding contract between us is made

Payment of your deposit is your acceptance to buy the services and goods set out in the Quotation. At this point a legally binding contract will be in place between you and us.

Right to Cancel

You have the right to cancel this contract within 14 days without giving any reason. However, you do not have the right to cancel if the goods ordered are bespoke, i.e. made especially for you, and in the process of being manufactured OR if you requested for us to start providing the services during the cancellation period.

Lead-times

We will use our reasonable efforts to carry out the services within a reasonable period and the period which is discussed, if any. Where timescales have not been agreed or need to change for no fault of our own, we will carry out the services with a reasonable timeframe. That said, our ability to do so may be affected by events beyond our reasonable control, i.e. manufacturers lead and delivery times, force majeure events etc.

Charges and payment

Our Quotations, sales orders and invoices set out the fees and payment milestones. You agree to pay us promptly and on time, within 7 days of receiving our invoice. All payments are to be made direct to us and not via any third party.

5.1. Changes to taxes, tariffs and goods themselves imposed by manufacturers or authorities will be your responsibility.

5.2. Payment is not to be withheld by the customer in any event, including but without limitation to delays.

Our Services

In addition to and without affecting your statutory rights, we agree to perform our services with reasonable care and skill, ensure any additional charges are reasonable and properly communicated to you in a timely and prompt manner. For the avoidance of doubt, time is not of the essence in this contract.

Our liability to you

Except for any legal responsibility that we cannot exclude in law, such as for death or personal injury, or arising under applicable laws relating to the protection of your personal information, we are not legally responsible for any losses that were not foreseeable to you and us when the contract was formed, losses that were not caused by any breach on our part, business losses or losses to non-consumers.

Warranties and Guarantees

We provide a 12 month installation warranty, we provide no further warranties beyond our statutory obligations.

8.1. We take reasonable steps to assess the reputation and quality of the manufacturers we use. We endeavour to get it right. However, we can only pass on any warranty or guarantee provided by the manufacturer, we are not responsible for or liable under this warranty. We will assist you by contacting the manufacturers on your behalf, if requested, as part of our client care package.

Care and Maintenance

It is the customers’ sole responsibility to maintain the goods provided in line with any manufacturing guidelines. Lakes Doors will not be held responsible for any alternation or damage to the goods due to lack of care and maintenance by the customer.

Feedback, Disputes and your right to complain

We always aim to provide a very high level of service and customer satisfaction. We always welcome feedback and do want to hear from you if have any concern or are not entirely satisfied with our service. We will try to resolve any issues with you quickly and efficiently. 10.1. Personal Preference. We will not be able to resolve complaints which are design related due to personal preference. The goods are designed and manufactured by our suppliers and we have no control or responsibility over the design. We do welcome your feedback and this may be passed onto the manufacturers from time to time.

Third party rights

No one other than a party to this contract has any right to enforce any term of this contract.
